Getting the Most out of Mindcamp

Mindcamp Mindcamp 2013, Mindcampology

by Tim Hurson

Every kid knows that looking through a kaleidoscope gives you a different picture of the world. And often that picture shows you more than you thought was there.

Well, we want to give you the same opportunity at Mindcamp, so we’re introducing our own Collide-O-Scope (in keeping with this year’s theme) to let you see your Mindcamp experience through new eyes.

Here’s how it will work.

On opening night, we will form random groups of about 8 people (you’ll see how on Thursday evening).

Then, on both Friday and Saturday, for an hour before dinner, you are invited to meet with your group to share your Mindcamp experiences, learn what others did, and deepen your learning.

As with everything at Mindcamp, attendance is optional, but the people who took advantage of CREA’s sharing circles last April (that’s where we got the idea), loved them and reported getting a lot out of their discussions.

Each Collide-O-Scope group will be hosted by an experienced facilitator who will ensure a safe, open environment in which you can explore your thoughts and feelings, unpack your learnings, and begin integrating what you’ve been exposed to.

We hope you enjoy Collide-O-Scoping!

  1. Dear Tim,

What a wonderful idea. I’m looking forward to participating in my group. I find that this type of conversation improves my understanding of what I’ve learned as well as my long run retention.

I’m really getting excited about traveling up to Mind Camp this year. I’ve started packing early!

Thank you for all that you do! Tom
