Double-the-Lucky!

Mindcamp Random

ayahby Ayah Norris

Can’t believe this time three weeks ago we were in the midst of a beautiful Mindcamp — almost feels like a dream.

My business partner and I won the pass to Mindcamp for “Most Creative Pitch” at the Innoversity Summit this spring. I hadn’t heard of Mindcamp before, but once I dove into the website, I knew it was exactly what I needed. I now feel double-the-lucky. Not only did I get the gift of a pass (and introduction) TO Mindcamp, I also received the gift OF Mindcamp. I have never experienced anything like it.

My usual conference experiences end with a face hurting from over-forced “nice to meet you!” smiles, and a mind swelling with information. From the opening plenary, I knew this would be something different.

How beautiful to open by recognizing the land we are on, and integrating the traditions of those we share it with. This sparked the first of many tears of insight and gratitude that came throughout my Mindcamp experience.

I’ve had a bit of a whirlwind year-and-a-half of creative career forging, and Mindcamp was exactly what I needed. The sessions helped integrate many of the learnings I’ve had on my journey. The activities had me going to bed with a happy heart. And the people I met — words can barely do justice to the warmth, openness, and beauty of each person I met. I knew at every turn I’d encounter someone with a fascinating story behind — and ahead — of them. My only disappointment was not getting to meet each and every Mindcamper. I guess that’s what next year is for 🙂

I left last weekend feeling grounded, inspired, and as a new friend noted on our last day, with my heart firmly connected to my head. Thank you again – you and the Bananas have touched many, many lives, now including my own.

We met in the hallway outside of Jim Ridge’s session
where we and Mary Ellyn VIcksta ended up working together
to take our chosen telephone apart for fun.

It was great to meet you and see you then throughout
    the rest of Mindcamp.

Best wishes to you with your PhD.

Hopefully our lives will cross again, virtually or in person.
