Location

…and how to get here

Here’s a Google map satellite view of Mindcamp at Geneva Park. Each of the buildings we will use is marked with a blue marker. Click on them to see what they are. You can also scroll, zoom, etc. Or just click here to see it in a larger map

Mindcamp will take place at the YMCA Geneva Park Conference Centre, 138 kilometers (86 miles) north of Toronto Pearson International Airport. Geneva Park is on its own peninsula in Lake Couchiching, the “little sister” lake of Lake Simcoe, across the lake from Orillia, Ontario. It’s a fairly rural area, full of cottages and country homes. Orillia is the nearest town of any size, 16 kilometers away by car. The most notable local landmark is Casino Rama, a large gambling establishment 5 kilometers down the road.

If you are not Canadian, you will need a passport to enter Canada! This includes American citizens, now; the halcyon days of being able to cross the US/Canada border with a driver’s licence are over.

Getting to Geneva Park

It’s a two hour drive: under two hours if you’re coming from the airport, and just over if you’re coming from downtown. We’re working on arranging for a shuttle service from the airport as well as downtown. Stay tuned for more information about this.

Driving Directions from Toronto

  • Head north from Toronto on Highway 400 for about 85 kilometers
  • Just past Barrie, continue onto Highway 11 north for another 27 kilometers
  • Exit 131A to merge onto Highway 12, another 5 kilometers
  • Turn right onto Atherly Road (which is a continuation of Highway 12), another 3 kilometers
  • Turn left onto Rama Road (County Road 44) and drive north
  • After 5 kilometers you’ll se Casino Rama on your right. Say “oh, wow!” but keep heading north.
  • After a further 4 kilometers, you’ll see a sign for Geneva Park to the left. Take that left and follow the road on in.
