Focus on: Janeen Halliwell

Janeen Halliwell has 28 years’ experience leading and supporting organizations that focus on improving people’s lives. At the heart of her work: building self-directed leaders and learning organizations that achieve results that matter.
Janeen has a MA in Leadership and Training, has worked on four continents, and taught for two universities. She is passionate about learning through travel, having explored 34 countries, so far. While in her mid-forties she unplugged from consulting, and sailed 9000 sea miles as a cook on a world traveling sailboat.
In 2012, Janeen went after her dream and created We Move Forward, an International Women’s Day conference held annually on Isla Mujeres, the Island of Women, Mexico. Recently, she was involved in the conception of ‘The FOCUS Accreditation Innovation Award’ that acknowledges ground-breaking initiatives in Canada’s not-for-profit sector.
